 Famed director JEAN-DANIEL CADINOT DIES
One of gay adult erotica's greatest masters is gone. Jean-Daniel Cadinot passed away on April 23, 2008 of an apparent heart attack. We were always ardent admirers of his work - some of which ranks in the all-time top echelon of gay adult filmmaking. After the advent of DVD, very few of his films became available for the U.S. market. He never really got his due here (in our opinion) and preferred to only release his films - including his new ones - solely for the European market. We were very proud to work along with him and his U.S. distributor in launching two of his classics - Sex Bazaar and Traveling Journeyman - as well as two later ones, Safari City and Double en Jeu.
As of this writing it is unknown whether or not any more of his films will be released here in the U.S., but rest assured we will do our best to assist in any way we can. In the meantime, we offer this tribute to a man who forever changed the face of gay erotica, and left a mark none of us will soon forget.

He was once a "Gamin de Paris" called Daniel, born on 10th February 1944 in Paris' XVII arrondissement, his mother and father tailors in Batignolles at the bottom of Montmartre. They clothed men and he would undress them. This isn't a fairy tail; C'est la Vie!
Dull and botched-up studies but an enormous curiosity, aged 12 he discovered pleasures with boys. A practicing Catholic, Daniel went to confession until the day an over-curious priest made him lose his faith and made religion an enemy.
Aged 16 he discovered photography thanks to Richard Avedon and took evening courses at the Ecole National de Photo. To pay for them, he took millions of little jobs - courier, mail sorting for La Poste, assistant at Studio Valois, photo specialist for the stars of the sixties, DJ in a nightclub, decorator's help chez Mapple, shoe seller - that would later feature in his films.
At 20, Daniel established himself as a revolutionary photographer. He created 24x36 portraits. Did they look amateur? Who cares! His dexterity and spontaneity paid him back. He captured rare expressions that a classical photographer couldn't have obtained. His clients: Young soon-to-be well known actors such as Nathalie Baye and the dancer, Zizi Jeanmaire. It was because of a photo of Zizi that the US revue After Dark noticed him. He was their Paris correspondant and it was then that Daniel became Jean-Daniel Cadinot definitively. One is never a prophet in one's own country and France sulked whilst Germany helped him out. Du & Ich and Him were happy to publish his photographs of his passion: stripped young men.
In 1975 the gay world became liberated. Jean-Daniel had the opportunity to edit the first photo-books of male nudes in France. Under the generic title Masculin, 25 albums were published with their own particular ambience, a scenario in 64 pages: Les Anges Pervers, dedicated to Jean Genet, for example. With a run of 250,000 copies, the road was open for cinema.
In 1985, VHS hit the shops. Jean-Daniel made his first films on 16mm film. Today he has nearly a hundred to his name.
A furious perfectionist, his goal to sublimate the beauty of man, exalting in all that is remarkable about him and to make his latent eroticism explode forth in photograph or in action. He has no need for Dr. Freud; analyses and steam-releases are all present in his films. His balance and intellectual pleasures are all there. Despite his provocative airs, Jean-Daniel adored humanity, and men in particular.

| Our first website [www.LatinoFanClub.com] is no longer in operation because we trusted our Webmaster to renew our domain URL last May, 2007. Instead of registering it in our name, he effectively "stole" the site name by putting it in his name, BIG CITY BABY, the company he is CEO of. He is also owner of www.STREETLIFE.com, which is what you go to when you type in www.LatinoFanClub.com! This unethical webmaster ALSO hi-jacked our original www.LATINTHUGS.com and illegally provided several of our copyrighted LFC videos to view at a fee to customers without our permission, and without any payments to us.
By verbal agreement, his company was enjoying 50% of VIP Passes sold, and then he stopped sending us our share. His last check to us last May was returned INSUFFICIENT FUNDS and we have not received an email, letter or phone call from him since! Since this, we have heard from other sites which also claimed they were victimized by this person. So in May we will see him in Court, and hopefully find justice. Update: We are pleased to tell all of you, that the Latino Fan Club won its lawsuit against "streetlife.com". The trial revealed some additional and surprising facts, including the testamony of a former employee of "Big City Baby" who alleged that he was ordered to divert potential subscribers of the Latino Fan Club site, to the "streetlife" website! In only a 6 month period, for example, the amount of money owed, and not paid to LFC was in the thousands. In the next update, we will reveal the comments stated by the Judge in this case... stay tuned!

Our fans often remark that the qualities found in Latino Fan Club videos are just not to be found in the videos of our competitors. Emails like the one from Elliot G. of Newark, NJ note: "How can "BCV" call themselves the 'Leader of latin and black video' when all they make are loops? They must have little regard for the intelligence of their customers!" ["Loops" are short sex scenes usually of 2 people originating in the 1980's usually found in peep shows--Ed.] No wonder the company's website is called "Peeps", as their videos are little more than four or five loops put together and given a title that has no connection to the sex scenes-- as there is no storyline.--Barry L.Dear
I just bought a copy of Big City Video's newest epic, and good thing there were a couple of new hot men-otherwise, it's the same old formula: like 4 badly-lit scenes in the same corner of a room with cheap fabric stuck up on the walls! Gee, where can I buy those fabrics? Their boxes always suggest an interesting story, but there never is any story! L.F.C.- Whatever happened to LaMancha Productions? After a huge splash, and a few fairly good videos, they've all but disappeared. The only new videos I see in the stores are collections of solo jerk-offs, but no "big" productions Enrique Cruz used to brag about! I know he has a bad reputation, but he's almost disappeared from the New York scene.-- Kelly G., NYC
